The Bloom BMX Awards 2019 Results

Monday, December 23, 2019

With so much talent in women's BMX right now, we felt it was important to recognize the riders who impacted us the most, and so in mid-November, we opened up the opportunity for the community to vote for 7 different categories. Thank you for those who participated (the number of votes was overwhelming) and thank you to the following riders who inspire us to ride every day. We look forward to seeing what 2020 brings and what categories will be added this time next year.

Hannah Roberts
She's someone who has been killing it in park. She may or may not be winning every competition but her style, flow, tricks, and creativity makes her the standout for 2019.

Alise Post-Willoughby
She's dominating on the track, the gym, the mental game and all that comes with racing. Racers descend down the ramp in 2 seconds at almost 40 mph... quick, who is your 2019 racer of the year?

Irina Sadovnik
Graceful, quick, dedicated and stylish to name a few, she's someone who has been killing it on the ground.

Anahí Valentina
She can easily be confused for a park rider, but her urban surroundings are her playground. She might be known for nibblers, but you won't see her stop having fun because of some skate stoppers.

Keir Sirlin
She may not necessarily be young, but she's new on the scene and making waves in 2019. She could be a park, street, flatlander or even racer, she's the rookie of the year making a splash in 2019.

Caroline Buchanan
She's someone who had to overcome a serious setback, and inspires us all to keep fighting and working to come back even stronger.

This is the brand that has provided the most support to women's BMX this year, and we love you.

Rather, drop everything because the promised second part of my California trip has arrived. In this series, you look with us how people live in the trailer, with your own eyes see the California wasteland and ride in the park that we found there. Enjoy watching!

Brooke Crain Signature Citizen Colorway

Thursday, December 5, 2019

Riding for Haro alone has always been a dream come true. Not many women have ever represented the brand, especially on the race side. Now adding my own signature frame tops it all. It’s been 9 years since I signed with Haro and I’m honored to have finally created my own colorway. I’ve always loved pastel colors and although there are lots of hot pink bikes out there I’ve never seen a pastel pink frame so I was determined to make this happen. Luckily the guys at Haro loved it too. Now there’s only 50 of them so I can’t wait to see who gets one while they are still here! - Brooke Crain

The PTC (Power Transfer Center) bottom bracket on our Citizen frame is made up of an 86.5mm wide shell allowing the down-tube and chain-stays to spread to the outer width of the shell and create undoubtedly the stiffest, most responsive bottom bracket concept to hit the BMX market. The head-tube of the Citizen is a tapered 1-1/8" - 1.5" design which stiffens up the front end of the bike for maximum steering response. The rear dropouts of the Citizen are a removable CNC machined alloy design compatible with 10mm, 15mm and 20mm rear axles with the included hardware and adapters.

  • Built from M30-S and T-700 carbon with internal brake cable routing
  • PTC (Power Transfer Center) press-fit BB86 design
  • Interchangeable alloy dropouts with built-in chain tensioners
  • Accommodates 10, 15 and 20mm rear axles
  • 1-1/8" - 1.5" tapered head tube
  • Pro (20.5" TT/14.75" RC), Pro XL(21" TT/15.2" RC)
  • Pro XXL (21.75" TT/15.2" RC), Long (21.75" TT/17.2" RC)
  • 2.7lbs (Pro XL size)

Brooke Crain got her start in BMX when she watched her older brother race at a track in Tulare, Ca. Since then she has been riding every track in sight full speed and hasn't looked back. Brooke advanced up through the ranks of BMX quickly, turning pro at the age of 15 in 2008 and then joining the US Cycling team the next year in 2009. Since then Brooke has competed in two Olympic Games, finishing 8th at London in 2012 and 4th at Rio in 2016. Today Brooke continues to progress as a top tier BMX racer and is an inspiration and role model for aspiring athletes women all over the world. When she isn't pushing the limits of BMX racing all over the world, Brooke can be found in her hometown of Visalia California, kicking back with her two bulldogs, Baylee and Charlee, and spending time with her family and friends. - Haro
