How did you get into BMX? My dad has always been involved with bikes ever since he was a kid and found a local track. He took my brother down to the track one day and it went from there, I wanted to have a go too.

What languages do you speak? None 😂

What are your top three tracks?

  1. Manchester
  2. Papendal
  3. Bogotá

Songs to get you pumped? I don’t listen to music on race day, but there are a few Eminem songs that could.

Emily Hutt & Bethany Shriever

Three people who inspire you and why?

  1. My dad. I trust him and will always go back to him for advice. I want to do well to show him and my mum that all the years of them driving me everywhere was worth it.
  2. My brother too. Although sometimes we don’t see eye to eye on things, I know he just wants the best for me. He believes in me more than myself so if he says I can do something I trust him.
  3. Beth also inspires me. I get to train with her and see what it takes to be an Olympic Champion. She works hard, so it only motivates me to work harder too. She has helped me a lot with confidence in myself too.

What is a trend in BMX you want to stop seeing? 😂 I can’t really think of one off the top of my head.

What do you do when you’re not riding? Resting. I try to do my schoolwork too but on my days off I see Beth too.

Favourite person to ride or train with? Beth. If I was at home, I like to ride with my brother and sister too.

Favourite shoes to ride in? Probably Lake or Shimano clips.

Most inspirational quote? Everything happens for a reason.

Best advice given to you? Just people believing in me and telling me they do. It’s happened at a few races when teammates have given me advice and I have surprised myself too.

Your biggest fear? Probably spiders 😂

Your proudest accomplishment? I would say my World Cup podium in Colombia. I started off the season really well with a European win but it kind’ve went downhill. This was the last race of the season and I went in with my best form that year. Everyone around me had confidence in me, I just needed to see it myself.

Three guilty pleasures? hmm I don’t think I have three, but probably brownies 😂

Your worst habit? I can be a nail biter 😬

If you could hire someone to help you in some sort of aspect of your life, what would it be? I’d say in the future with property and renovating houses.

What is an amazing experience you had that couldn’t have happened without BMX? Travelling the world. I wouldn’t have been to the places I’ve been to if it wasn’t for racing.

Your top three future goals you want to achieve?

  1. I want to make World Cup podiums
  2. Be a World Champion
  3. Olympic Champion.
