Rhea Aldamar’s entry for our 2026 Bloom BMX Video Contest, presented by Sunday and Odyssey.
Filmed by: John Ivan Coronel
“I was beyond excited when I heard about the Bloom BMX video contest. At first, I thought I couldn’t make it to the deadline, but thankfully, they extended it, giving me only a week or two to film. Between other responsibilities and the scorching 100° heat of the Philippines, it wasn’t easy. Still, I had so much fun capturing clips around our local town, sharing a glimpse of our culture, and proudly representing my country.I thought I had enough clips, but my heart wanted more. So after work, I headed straight to our local skatepark to squeeze in a few more. I’m beyond grateful to be part of this. Because for me, it’s not just about filming the scene or making a video. It’s about rediscovering a love I sometimes forget in the busyness of adulthood.BMX reminds me that even as life gets heavier, there’s still something that makes me feel alive. And somehow, it heals parts of me I didn’t know needed healing.”
Thank you to our sponsors for making this video contest possible: Sunday, Odyssey, Fit Bike Co, Huffy Bikes, Kink BMX, Woodward Camp, and Vans.
