British Cycling has announced their Olympic Team! “BMX Supercross will see Kye Whyte and Beth Shriever represent Team GB, both making their Olympic debuts, while the BMX Freestyle event will be contested for the first time in Tokyo, with world bronze medallist Charlotte Worthington and Declan Brooks ready to represent the nation.” – BritishCycling.org.uk
Charlotte Worthington – Bronze at UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Chengdu (2019) and Montpellier (2021)
Bethany Shriever – 2017 Junior World Champion
After the 2016 Rio Olympics, UK Sport stipulated that only male riders would receive support towards the Tokyo 2020-1 Olympics. Like Lauren Reynolds (AUS), Bethany had to work her way and even crowdfund her journey to the Olympics. More on her journey here.
