The 2025 Bloom BMX Award winners are here, and this year has been nothing short of monumental for women’s BMX. Miharu Ozawa’s 2025 season has been nothing short of impressive, and at just 16 years old, she becomes the youngest rider ever to win this category. Miharu opened the year with a 2nd place finish at Simple Session, then went on to claim gold at the Asian BMX Freestyle Championships and then her first World Cup victory at FISE Sakai. With podiums at FISE Montpellier, strong finishes at the World Championships, and a 2025 NORA Cup Women’s Rider of the Year nomination, Miharu’s breakout year sets a new standard for the next generation. Saya Sakakibara’s 2025 season stands as a powerful reminder of resilience, excellence, and leadership at the highest level of BMX racing. An undeniable inspiration to the next generation, Saya continued to shape the sport both on and off the track, while also working on the audio version of her book, “Just Go”. On the race circuit, she delivered a world-class season – becoming the 2025 Australian National Champion, earning back-to-back gold medals at World Cup Rounds 5 and 6 in Argentina, and claiming silver at the World Championships in Denmark. Saya’s consistency across the global series was unmatched, with 2nd-place finishes at World Cup stops in Sarrians and Papendal. In recognition of her impact beyond sport, Saya was also awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in April. A season defined by strength, purpose, and podiums – congratulations to Saya Sakakibara, your 2025 Bloom BMX Racer of the Year!

Chiaki Todaka’s 2025 season has been nothing short of remarkable, as the young Japanese rider firmly established herself at the top of women’s flatland BMX. At just 15 years old, Chiaki delivered a breakout year that few could match, becoming the Women’s Flatland Elite World Champion in November in Riyadh. She carried that momentum straight into the World Cup circuit, earning gold at FISE World Shanghai in October and following it up with another World Cup victory at FISE Sakai in Japan. Between global events, Chiaki continued to dominate at home, consistently podiuming at local Japanese competitions, showcasing both her precision and consistency throughout the season. Bethany Hedrick’s 2025 season was nothing short of dominant, earning her Bloom BMX Street Rider of the Year in a landslide. A rider respected deeply by her peers, Bethany also claimed the 2025 NORA Cup Women’s Rider of the Year, reinforcing her position as one of the most influential street riders in BMX today. This year marked a new chapter as she joined Kink Bicycles, stepping into a role that quickly translated into action – travelling extensively with the team to film multiple street projects alongside Odyssey, further expanding her impact on BMX media and progression. Bethany also brought her leadership to the forefront as a Battle of Hastings Captain, while building on the legacy of this award she shared in 2024 with Linda Grabner. With output and respect at an all-time high, congratulations to Bethany Hedrick, your 2025 Bloom BMX Street Rider of the Year!

Teresa Fernández-Miranda’s 2025 season further cemented her status as one of the most influential trail riders in BMX. Earning The Bloom BMX Trail Rider of the Year for the fourth time, Teresa continues to define what dedication and style look like in the trails scene. This was a busy year for Teresa, as her riding was featured in projects like Odyssey’s “ON LOCK” and Vans BMX & Odyssey collaborative video, “PROOF OF BIKING”. Now living a nomadic van life, Teresa has fully embraced a lifestyle that mirrors her riding – free, intentional, and rooted in the journey as much as the destination. With years of impact and progression behind her, congratulations to Teresa Fernández-Miranda, your 2025 Bloom BMX Trail Rider of the Year!

Perris Benegas’ 2025 season proved that impact in BMX goes far beyond contest results. While she made a single World Cup appearance at FISE Montpellier, Perris dedicated much of the year to the creative and community-driven side of BMX, delivering standout film parts including “ON LOCK” and “PROOF OF BIKING”. Her presence was felt across the BMX scene as she travelled to Texas for community events like Darty in the Ditch, brought BMX to the beach at the Super Girl Surf Festival in Oceanside, and hosted her first girls’ bike clinic at COR in Utah. On the competition side, Perris still delivered when it counted, taking gold at Simple Session and earning bronze at X Games Salt Lake City. Rounding out a landmark year, Perris also celebrated the release of her Odyssey signature handlebars, and oh, she got married! Congratulations to Perris Benegas, your 2025 Bloom BMX Bowl Rider of the Year!

Noémi Molnár’s 2025 season has been a thrilling introduction to the world stage. At just 15 years old, the Hungarian rider transitioned from scooters and general athletics to become one of BMX’s most exciting young talents. This year, she earned 5th place at the World Championships in Riyadh, the youngest girl on the course, and claimed bronze at the FISE Shanghai World Cup in October. Noémi also stood on the European podium as the 2025 European Vice-Champion, taking silver at the championships. This award is a glimpse into the future of women’s BMX, and Noémi Molnár’s fearless riding promises an electrifying few years ahead.
