Only 12 more days until Simple Session 2012! I won’t physically be there to cover the event, but I thought I do what I could while sitting around in Canada. This week will be filled with interviews from the BMX Sister Session riders. Our first interviewee is from the United Kingdom, say hello to Kayley Ashworth.

Hiyaaaa! I’m Kayley! A bit about me, well, I’m from Widnes (UK) I ride a BMX and I’m lucky enough to have the following companies support me, in showing others the fun of the sport:

I’m doing this interview because I pedal a BMX and have a lot of fun doing so! 🙂 myself and 10 other girls have had an amazing opportunity to have a ‘Sister Session’ at one of the worlds biggest competitions. Simple Session 2012.

For those who don’t know, what is Simple Session?
Simple Session is crazy, but it’s only crazy because a whole heap of riders come together for two reasons, to ride and party. It’s amazing to see riders from all other the globe come together and enjoy a great weekend 😀
This is the first year that Simple Session will have held a girls class, there wasn’t any last year. The line up for 2012 is pretty amazing though! Ten riders, and there’s going to be some pretty cool things happening 😀 http://www.session.ee/2012/riders/
There is so much more to Simple Session than the girls heat, yeah it will be fun to take part in and it’s a great moment for the rise of girls in BMX, but the male competition will be OUT.OF.THIS.WORLD! And then….then there’s the parties 😀
Any tips for girls who are looking to enter next year?
Erm, go and have fun! It’s a holiday at the end of the day 😀 There is some pressure at competitions and the ‘need’ to entertain the crowd, so if that’s something the rider isn’t too phased by then it’ll be fine…I see it as riding and having a session with a bunch of girls 🙂
Are you looking forward to anything specific while being there?
Riding that course is going to be amazing, let me say that again…AMAZING!!! Have you seen the size of it?! Oh my days! It’ll be cool to see everyone again, it’ll be the first competition of the year, haven’t seen everyone since July!
