Interview with Aimee Forster

At The Bloom BMX, we love highlighting up-and-coming riders who we believe have the potential to make a real impact on women’s BMX. Today, that rider is Aimee Forster (@aimee_forster12). Hailing from Peterlee, England, the 25-year-old comes from a scooter background and has already been turning heads with how quickly she’s progressed on BMX. Backed by Override Skatepark, Aimee is showing all the signs of becoming a strong influence for the Great Britain scene. We caught up with Aimee to talk about her journey, the switch from scootering, and what’s next – check out the interview below.

How did you get into BMX? From the age of 13, I started in the streets with a couple of friends on scooters. From that day everyday was skatepark 😂 My first sponsor was Override Skatepark, I have now ridden for them for nearly 12 years. This is where I had met Kieran Reilly, who was also on the same team at the time. After being sponsored on a scooter by numerous companies, I had to put the scooter away for health reasons. I then worked at Override for a while, and Kieran would pay a visit now and again. He would constantly say, “Jump on a BMX Aimee.” Then, numerous people start saying it. I gave up and said go on then, why not! I bought my first bike in June 2024, which was a Sunday street Sweeper, I didn’t actually have a proper session on the bike until July 2025 where in my first session, I learnt to backflip. That feeling of adrenaline that I used to get on a scooter all came flooding back, and I was ready to start my BMX journey. Been riding for nearly 5 months now, the thrill from landing a trick is the best feeling. From doing my first flair to my first whip, it’s just a roller coaster at the minute.

What languages do you speak? I speak English, few words in French maybe 🤔

Your top three parks? I have to say my top three parks to ride would probably be: Adrenaline Alley, Asylum Skatepark and Junction 4

Top three songs on your playlist? This is a hard one, my playlist is an emotional roller coaster from rap to Adele 😂 If I were to pick ,3 probably:

  • Long shot – Catfish and the Bottlemen
  • Undressed – Sombr
  • Big man, little dignity – Paramore

Three people who inspire you and why? Three people who inspire me

  • My mam – She has always been my biggest inspiration, what she’s been through and can do makes me believe I can get through everything!
  • Logan Foster – Always inspires me, constant support through everything, not just bmxing!
  • Kieran Reilly – From riding together at such a young age to seeing what he has achieved now blows my mind!

What is a trend in BMX you want to stop seeing? Erm… probably people who take it really seriously. There is always a trend of being better than someone rather than supporting others and just having fun. The more support people have for each other, the more enjoyable the session is!

What do you do when you’re not riding? My other hobbies when not riding, I love spending time with my mam. From going shopping to having a brew! I also love spending time with friends. Love a sing and a dance now and again, who doesn’t 😂 OH… and Lego love Lego!

Favourite person to ride or train with? My favourite people to ride with have to be the Northeast England scene, nothing but pushing each other and laughing.

Favourite shoes to ride in? At the moment I’m currently riding in Adidas Campus. Currently in the figuring out stage of which are the best shoes to ride in

Best advice given to you? The best advice is probably from Logan Foster and that advice simply is “You can do this”. Once you hear that someone believes in you, you start believing in yourself and get whatever it is done

Your biggest fear? I think if you were to ask people who I ride with, I don’t have fears, it’s more just send and hope. If in general, my biggest fear is probably deep water… fun fact, I can’t swim

Your proudest accomplishment? My proudest accomplishment in the skatepark industry was probably being the first girl to do a double backflip on a scooter at Adrenaline Alley back when I was 17, I think. My proudest accomplishment in life would be not letting mental health get the better of me!

Your worst habit? My worst habit would probably be questioning myself as I’m mid trick 😂, I would be learning a new trick, and as I have left the ram,p it’s always like “was this a good idea?” or “why am I doing this?” 😂

If you could hire someone to help you in some aspect of your life, what would it be? I would hire someone to live my adult life whilst I go have fun haha

What is a memorable experience you had that couldn’t have happened without BMX? My most memorable experience has to be recently got a call from Michael Quinn, who invited me to a massive opportunity that I would never have expected. It was to be a part of TheSkateSquad to go and perform in Birmingham for BGT 2025. Now I won’t go into detail, but follow @theskatesquad1 on Instagram for updates 😁 and huge thank you to Michael Quinn for the opportunity!!!

Your top three future goals you want to achieve? Goals… I’m just here for fun, the rest that comes is a bonus 😁 If I had to make one for myself, it would probably be a girl’s first on a bike
