What is your BMX origin story – How did you get into BMX? Long story short, being in need of some major adrenaline after I had to stop cheerleading lead me to pick up a bike and start racing. I had no intentions or expectations of my bike life travelling this far but I’m so stoked that one love lost led to another found. In between bikes I had tried bodybuilding and was even sponsored to learn how to skateboard but those didn’t quite capture my ADHD personality and draw to the scaries. Bikes did the trick & they still do!

What languages do you speak? Mostly English but I can absolutely order a burrito.

Your top three parks:

  1. Does Swampfest count as a park…?
  2. Rays MTB
  3. FDR! I finally made it there and it’s definitely a top choice!

Top three songs to get you pumped

1. Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe

2. Jump In The Line by Harry Belafonte (idk why but this one gets me HYPED)

3. Heart Of Glass by Blondie

Three people who inspire you and why:

  1. Nina Buitrago will always be the 1st. The most kindhearted and badass lady rider. Full of laughs and unlimited stoke & will give you the shirt off her back with a “you good?”. There aren’t enough words to explain how lucky we are to have her.
  2. Mike Aitken – His positive outlook and drive to get back on his way really get me going. Being so new to this sport, I didn’t really get the excitement that most do about meeting their childhood heroes. I didn’t really know his full history
  3. Struggling with this one. Still thinking!

What is a trend in BMX you want to stop seeing? Gas station pizza after every ride. My dudes, we gotta treat our bodies better and I cannot resist the snacks if we arrive there mid-session. I’m a sucker for those 7eleven taquitos.

How do you spend your days off your bike? Currently, wishing I could ride. This broken leg has me a little set back but typically you’ll find me at the gym, doing outside things, and laughing a lot.

Favourite person to ride with? This is honestly hard to answer, I’ve been fortunate enough to ride and learn with so many different people over 5 years that I couldn’t pick one considering every person has had a crank at shaping the rider I am today.

Favourite shoes to ride in? My Union Squares! The Moodie Ox style is my current favorite

Most inspirational quote: “I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring” – David Bowie

Best advice given: PEDAL FASTER. But also, make sure you’re smiling.

Your biggest fear? Having to slow down, I stepped into this game late and want to really use my time wisely before my body starts to really fight back. I love BMX and don’t plan on stopping until I really have to.

Your proudest accomplishment? The Swampfest loop. I’m still so stoked I pushed through that mentally and physically. It was a really big moment for me!

Three guilty pleasures:

  1. One Direction
  2. Lots of blankets
  3. Very girly drinks

Your worst habit? Trying to be “on” all the time. I’m human, I have emotions. Mental health is gnarly but I think we all need to be allowed to speak up when we’re feeling off.

If you could hire someone to help you in some sort of aspect of your life, what would it be? A personal assistant to bring me back to planet earth when my ideas get too wild. An ADHD assistant 😂

Your top three future goals you want to achieve:

  1. Finally figure out how to air a quarter
  2. Work backwards and learn the small things like manuals and bunny hops for bike control.
  3. A realllllly big one for me that I can’t let out yet but is in the works 😎
