This event carried real meaning for many riders – especially Japan’s Minato Oike, who announced that this would be her final World Cup appearance, bringing her journey full circle on the Tokyo 2020 – 21 Olympic course. Brazil’s Duda Penso broke through with her first-ever finals appearance, while Australia’s Natalya Diehm secured her first World Cup podium, taking third.
