- There is a quota of 11 male riders and 11 female riders
- There will also be 1 male and 1 female spot allocated to the host country (USA)
- The total number of riders will be 24, 12 males and 12 females.
- The maximum number of athletes per National Olympic Committee (NOC) is 2 per male and female.
- Riders must be at least 15 years old in 2028
- There will be 3 Olympic Qualifier Series in 2028, locations and dates TBD
- Major events will also include the 2026 World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and in Haute-Savoie, France in 2027.
- The qualifying period will be from November 3, 2026, to the last OQS event in 2028
- LA28 will be from July 14-30, 2028
